The starting point
Many job pages were blocked for Google, several pages had setup errors, and a script injected by an outsider redirected visitors from Google to a casino site. The agency was losing candidates and trust without knowing why.
What I did
- Security first. Found and removed the redirecting script, then updated WordPress on a staging copy before going live.
- A full SEO audit. Indexing, errors, redirects and structured data, checked in Search Console.
- Opened the job pages. 85 job pages that were blocked for Google were opened.
- A topic cluster. Jobs were grouped under 11 landing pages by role and city, with links both ways.
- Compliant job ads. Job ads were cleaned up under the labor market law, without age or gender requirements, and the Google Ads copy was rewritten.
The result
28 days after the fixes, Search Console showed 373 clicks against about 247 the month before, 51% more clicks, and 42% more impressions. Indexed pages went from 245 to 332, and the query «work in Bydgoszcz» (translated) ranked at position 5.2 on average.
Much of the gain came from opening pages that already existed. New content takes longer, but the technical base has to be right first.
